Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of DWELL — the browser extension, the terminal client, the macOS app, and the dwellprotocol.com website (together, the "Service"). By installing the extension, creating an account, or redeeming dwells, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

What DWELL is

DWELL shows one sponsored line while a web AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini) is generating a response, and pays the person watching in dwells — the protocol's earning unit. Dwells are dollar-denominated reward credits (1,000 dwells = $1.00 of earned ad value), redeemable for USDC to a linked wallet or Claude credits. Dwells are not the $DWELL token and do not convert to it. The Service does not read, transmit, or store the contents of your prompts or the assistant's output.

Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to earn or redeem dwells.
• You're responsible for complying with the separate terms of any AI assistant you use the Service alongside (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google). DWELL is independent of those services.
• One account per person. Accounts and dwells are personal; dwells are non-transferable until token launch and may not be sold or transferred.

Earning dwells

• Each qualifying view — a sponsored line shown for at least two continuous seconds — counts as one impression. Clicks are tracked but not separately billed or paid.
• Advertisers pay fixed dollar CPMs by card or USDC. After payment processing, the campaign's rewards pool splits by dollar value: the viewer earns 60% — credited to you as dwells — with 10% to your referrer (or to the company when you're unreferred) and 30% to the company. Shares and fees are current configuration and may change prospectively. Earnings are tracked in an append-only ledger.
• Earnings are estimates until confirmed server-side and are subject to a daily cap. We don't guarantee any particular amount — it depends on available advertiser demand.
• Dwells earned through fraud — including automated, spoofed, or artificially generated impressions or clicks — are void, and we may suspend the account.
• Onboarding post. As part of first-time onboarding you're asked to share a prebuilt DWELL post to your X (Twitter) timeline. An account that does not have that onboarding post live on its timeline may have its payouts delayed or withheld, and we may require the post to remain public as a condition of paying out. Removing or hiding the post after the fact may delay or withhold future payouts.

Redeeming dwells

• Dwells are redeemed only in your portal on the dwellprotocol.com website, after you sign in.
• USDC to your wallet. Redeem dwells at face value less a 10% protocol fee ($100 minimum) as USDC sent to your linked Solana wallet. Transfers are executed by licensed partners as counterparty of record.
• Claude credits. Redeem dwells for Claude subscription time (Claude Pro, Max 5x, or Max 20x) at a 10% boost — your dwells are worth 110% of face value on this path. Credits are delivered by email to your account, typically within 48 hours.
• Redeeming spends the dwells and cannot be reversed. Redemptions are dollar-valued (1,000 dwells = $1.00); the $DWELL token plays no role in redemption. Dwells do not convert to $DWELL — any earlier statement describing a dwells-to-$DWELL conversion at token launch is superseded by these terms, and previously earned dwells are honored at face value under the redemption paths above. The company may change the redemption menu, fees, or boost prospectively.
• Dwells are a promotional earning balance with no independent cash value until redeemed or claimed, are not legal tender, and may be forfeited if an account is closed or terminated for abuse.
• Cash-out and gift-card payouts may be delayed or withheld for an account that does not have its onboarding post live on its X (Twitter) timeline (see Earning dwells above).
• Claude subscriptions are provided by, and subject to the terms of, Anthropic. DWELL is not the issuer.

For advertisers

Advertisers fund campaigns through Stripe Checkout and enter an auction ranked by bid. Every campaign is reviewed before it serves; campaigns that are rejected in review are refunded. You're responsible for the accuracy and legality of the ad content you submit.

Acceptable use

• Don't tamper with, automate, or otherwise manipulate impression or click counts.
• Don't reverse-engineer, resell, or abuse the Service, or use it to violate any law or third-party right.
• We may suspend or remove access, and void affected dwells, if you breach these terms.

Third parties & no affiliation

DWELL is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google. "Claude," "ChatGPT," and "Gemini" are trademarks of their respective owners. We rely on Stripe for advertiser payments, on licensed partners for USDC transfers, and on cloud infrastructure for hosting; your use of those is also subject to their terms.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular earnings or redemptions will be available.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DWELL is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the value of the dwells in your account at the time of the claim.

Changes & termination

We may update the Service or these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above, and continued use means you accept them. You can stop using the Service and uninstall at any time — dwells confirmed before then remain redeemable, subject to these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which DWELL is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
